Billy, Owner of Outlast Functional Fitness
Shortly after graduating high school and playing sports was no longer an option, Billy began his lifelong career as a lineman. However, traveling for work, living out of hotel rooms and eating mostly fast food, Billy found himself on a fast track to a not so healthy lifestyle. After years of living this way and reaching his heaviest weight of 245 lbs., Billy looked himself in a hotel mirror and decided to make a change.

He stopped drinking sodas and started going to the gym when he could. Yet, he was working out inconsistently and didn’t have a plan. Billy continued this routine for a few years until he met his wife, Rachael. Little did he know, this would be the beginning of an undreamed-of health and fitness journey intended to last a lifetime.
Rachael, Owner and Trainer at Outlast Functional Fitness
From a young age Rachael always knew that she wanted to help others in some way. She just didn’t know what that would be. Through years of playing sports and loving exercise in general, Rachael realized that she wanted to help others live a healthier life through physical fitness.
With that realization, she looked for opportunities to turn her passion for helping others through fitness into a career and thought she would pursue a degree in physical therapy. Nevertheless, life had other plans for Rachael and she graduated from U.T.C. with a Bachelors of Psychology instead.
Despite a few years in the corporate grind, Rachael's passion for helping others through fitness persisted. Encouraged by her mother and pushed by her husband, Billy, she pursued and completed the National Academy of Sports Medicine certified personal training course, becoming an NASM Certified Personal Trainer. Billy and Rachael began their health and fitness journey together, unknowingly laying the foundation for Outlast Functional Fitness.
Through trial and error, they discovered what worked best for them and grew smarter, stronger, and more confident. They participated in various fitness competitions, including road races, Spartan courses, and the Nashville Fit Games, confirming their love for hybrid training. This training style includes functional movements, heavy lifts, and running across diverse landscapes.
Determined to share their passion, Billy and Rachael created Outlast Functional Fitness, focusing on functional training. This form of strength training prepares the body for everyday movements like lifting, carrying, pushing, and squatting.
